TELEVISION INTERRUPTER
Avocation Systems is proud to introduce the release of its TVi-F, Television
Interrupter, helping facilitate desired behavior from autistic children.
HOW IT WORKS
The TVi creates a sensing area in front of
the television to detect the presence of a child.
Once the child moves away from the television, the picture returns. By using this cause and
effect teaching method, the child will quickly learn not to get too close to the television.
When a child approaches too close to the television by entering into
the sensing area, the television picture is automatically turned off.
BACK STORY
The TVi was developed 3 years ago by the father of an Autistic child. The product has been successful in teaching his child not to get too close to the television. It acts as an intervention to help facilitate desired behaviors that are essential in developing positive outcomes. This device helps control stimulation levels and minimize the inappropriate behaviors (touching, hitting, banging etc.), that are being exhibited.
